BCMG's Music Maze
FIND YOUR WAY INTO MUSIC THROUGH THE MUSIC MAZE
Free creative music workshops for children aged 8-11.
Music Maze is an exciting series of fun, creative, participatory workshops for children age 8 – 11 inclusive, organised and run by Birmingham Contemporary Music Group (BCMG). There will be eight workshops from September 2011 to July 2012. The workshops take place at the CBSO Centre and are led by BCMG Learning Manager Nancy Evans and composer Liz Johnson alongside BCMG musicians. Each workshop is linked to performances by BCMG.
In June’s Music Maze the young people will mix the sounds of their own musical instruments, invented ones and voices to create an extraordinary sound world inspired by the music theatre piece Walden by German composer Heiner Goebbels which uses words written the naturalist Henry Thoreau whilst he lived alone in the forests of Massachusetts, USA in 1845.
Places for the workshop are FREE but must be booked in advance either through the BCMG website www.bcmg.org.uk or by calling 0121 616 2616. Booking opens 3 weeks before each workshop.
