First Light
First Light is a UK wide organisation that uses film and media production to develop skills in young people aged up to 25. Utilising a mixture of production training, mentoring, careers support, work experience and intensive skills development the Second Light programme helps talented young filmmakers aged 18+ to take the next step in gaining a sustainable career in the industry.
The Princes Trust
The Princes Trust gives practical and financial support,
developing key workplace skills such as confidence and motivation. The trust
works with 13 to 30-year-olds who have struggled at school, have been in care,
are long-term unemployed or have been in trouble with the law.
The Prince's Trust Birmingham centre
currently offer the Fairbridge
programme, which is an individually tailored personal development programme
combining one-to-one support and group activities.
The Fairbridge programme works with young people from
all over Birmingham and Solihull. They also get referrals from Coventry and
parts of the Black Country, including Sandwell, Walsall and West Bromwich.
